For those Indians who love Volkswagen, we've got some great news! The German automobile manufacturer is soon to introduce its Polo based compact SUV in India. This was announced during the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. As most car enthusiasts know, Polo is essentially an uber cool, stylish, influential and modern hatchback. The company aims to offer this new compact SUV variant with all of the previous Polos' charm.
The compact SUV will be designed with the T-Cross concept and will be built on the advanced MQB AO platform. It is assumed that the next-gen Polo hatchback will also be built on this same platform. The upcoming car is speculated to be packed with futuristic features; it will be a two-door convertible car whose exterior will flaunt the latest in design.
The compact SUV will be called T-Cross Breeze compact SUV in India. It has a wide grille filled with glossy chrome and the bumper has arty square LED daytime running lights. The wraparound headlights give the car a spectacular aura that must be witnessed. The compact SUV has macho 19-inch alloy wheels and a 1.5-liter diesel engine that will have a bhp of 120. While the 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine will yield 110bhp.
When it comes to the interiors of the car, you’ll be glad to know that the car has a black cabin and a three-spoke steering wheel. The dashboard has a neat design that is equipped with an incredible touchscreen multimedia system. The car also has a seven-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox and five - six-speed manual transmission.
The car is expected to be launched in 2018 and is assumed to be priced between INR 9 to 13 lakhs. Renault Duster and Hyundai Creta will mostly be this car’s major contenders. Only time will tell how the car does in the Indian market.
