Starting at £ 44,830, the price of the Range Rover Velar isn’t the only thing that has people rushing to see its release. With a rakish roofline, this spacious and practical vehicle has a lot more to offer. Furthermore, this Range Rover teaser looks pretty impressive causing people to eagerly await the arrival of the vehicle.
What does the Car Offer?
Officially being debuted at Geneva Motor Show 2017, this car is aiming to outshine the Porsche Macan as well as the BMW X6 and everything else that comes in between. Striving to cover so many bases, the car is certainly ready to stun.
Part of the Range Rover line-up of Land Rover, it is being seen as a far better upgrade from the Evoque. However, as far as the size is concerned, it is just 5cm shorter than the Range Rover Sport and surpasses the height of the Evoque by just 5mm. Being as spacious as the Macan and Jaguar’s F- Pace, the car isn’t exactly like a coupe-SUV, it is packed with a host of amazing features.
Design That Will Make Your Eyes Bulge
Fitted with horizontal taillights that stretch across the entire tailgate, the range rover teaser looks impressive, though the real deal is much more exciting. It is fitted with door handles that pop out, giving a smooth finish to the sides. The vehicle is also capable of supporting a TFT virtual display of 12.3 inches.
The Fascia’s buttons have been replaced with touchscreens and the heater, transmission settings, and suspension is controlled by it. The best part is that all these systems light up only when the car is turned on. By introducing certain technologies that are new to Land Rover itself, the overall effect is one of immense sophistication.
For the driver, the seat is lowered so that the view will not be obstructed by the swooping roofline. In addition, the boot is not only spacious but also has hooks to keep luggage firmly in place. The rear hatch does not come with an extendable ledge to sit on, however, by merely moving your foot below the rear bumper, it can be opened. It can support 1,731 liters of load with the rear seats folded in.
A Look at the Engine
The most basic engine unit will be capable of providing 178 bhp and torque of about 430Nm, allowing it to move to 60 mph in just 8.4 seconds. The CO2 emissions of the vehicle are also quite low for the lower units. It comes in diesel as well as petrol-fuelled engines. Built for four-wheel drive, it has air suspension and 8-speed automatic transmission.
Is the Velar a Good Buy?
Available at a price that is £15k less than the normal Range Rover, the lowest model is available at £44,830 and the performance that comes with this car is amazing for the price. The first customers are expected to receive their cars in July.
So if you thought the Range Rover teaser looked impressive, wait till you see the real thing. It is expected to be far more capable than any car currently on the road. With heated front seats, heated windscreen, keyless entry, 20-inch wheels, LED lights, and more, you are certainly in for something extraordinary.
